What's YOUR Message in a bottle?
When I speak to schools, I tell kids about a bottle I found in the lake in Maine when I was eleven years old. Its shimmery glass bobbing up and down in the waves thrilled me because I thought I’d discovered a long-lost message from a sailor! But it turned out to be empty, and that made me mad. How dare someone NOT send a message?
I promised myself that I would never skip the chance to give the world my message in a bottle – something I want to say – and now I do it through my books. I hope all kids will make this pledge too.
